Often customers ask "why the wierd store hours--closed Saturday but open Sunday?" The answer has to do with religious convictions; this affects store hours as well as Ken's business philosophy: "We are here to serve you--not to fleece you!" Ken finds that many customers prefer to deal with a Christian businessman rather than a nameless faceless large corporation.

The "worldly golden rule" He who has the gold--rules !
"Christian wealth" True wealth is not measured by the money you have--it is measured by your relationship with Christ. Ephesians 4:32 says be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
There are aproximately 2000 "brands" (denominations) of Christianity. This page is an attempt to answer commonly-asked questions about our religious beliefs; Many beliefs common to nearly all Christians are shared by Seventh Day Adventist Christians:
1-We believe: in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (the "Trinity").
2-God created heaven and earth.
3-Jesus Christ died to save us from our sins.
4-Jesus Christ rose from the grave and ascended to heaven where he is presently with the Father.
5-Jesus Christ will come to earth again to judge the living and the dead.
6-People who accept Christ's sacrifice & forgiveness will be saved to spend eternity with God.
Some beliefs are also accepted by many other Christians such as:
7-The Bible is the Word of God revealed to humanity and is the sole foundation of our religious faith.
8-Eternal life is a gift of God--we do not earn salvation by works.
9-Baptism by immersion is one way that believers show publicly that they have accepted the grace of Jesus Christ & the forgiveness of their sins & that they want to show their love of God by doing his will.
Smaller numbers of other Christians also believe/accept the following:
10-The Ten Commandments were given by God to all men; they are valid now, the saints will follow them in heaven & thru-out eternity. if they weren't important--they would have been the "Ten Suggestions" !
11-The 7th Day Sabbath was made by God at the end of creation week so that men could rest from their work and spend time in worship.
12-Our bodies are created in God's image and we should take care of our bodies by abstaining from unhealthful things such as tobacco & alcoholic beverages; eating healthfully, (pure water & fresh air), and exercise. Because of this emphasis on healthy living: aproximately 50% of SDA's in the USA are vegetarians. Studies show that SDA's in the USA have an average lifespan about 7 years longer than other US residents! US SDA's who are also vegetarians have an average lifespan about 14 years longer than other US residents!
13-The righteous dead sleep in their graves to await resurection when Christ comes to earth again "to judge the living and the dead." Wickedness, the Devil/Satan and evil spirits will be destroyed for eternity.
14-Choice/Freedom of Religion: God gave us the power to believe (or not believe) in Him as we choose. Individuals have the right to choose/change a religion according to personal study & understanding of the Scriptures. Earthly governments do not have the right to dictate personal religious beliefs, however governments have the responsibility to protect the rights of others from misguided actions done "in the name of religion."
Ken is thankful that The United States of America is the "Land of the Free--Because of the Brave."
15-Christians have a responsibility to share what God has done for us. Our "Christian Behavior" should influence others to become interested in worshipping God also.
16-Stewardship: this goes beyond supporting our favorite charity & church. We have a responsibility to care for & preserve Gods Creation "Mother Nature" as Christian environmental stewards.
SDA's reject some popular ideas, traditions, & practices as non-Biblical in origin.
17-Evolution as an explanation of the origin of life
18-Immortality of the soul
19-Salvation by works
Many of the false teachings that exist in Christianity now came from Pagan & Sun Worship traditions between 300 & 600 AD.
To understand what the Bible teaches--we need to study all texts related to a subject. When we have an open mind and let the Bible explain itself--we will find that scriptures agree.
One of the reasons that we have thousands of denominations now is because people like to take isolated texts and phrases (out of context) to "prove" a pre-conceived idea that they want you to believe! That takes a lot less effort than studying every text related to a particular subject!
An extreme case of wrong use of Scripture would be to read the last line of Matthew 27:5 followed by the last sentence of Luke 10:37 then using those unrelated phrases as a guideline for the day!
